Art
in Ditchling is not a group, as such but a collective
of seven independent venues all within a few miles of
the village centre. There are a full range of arts on
display including ceramics, metal and wood sculptures,
paintings, photography, jewellery and more.
Ditchling is best known today as an artistic community
where several famous artists lived and worked. It is a
beautiful, charming village, in part due to the efforts
of its inhabitants who are keen to preserve the unspoilt
atmosphere so cherished by all who visit and live there.
A mixture of Tudor, Jacobean and Stuart houses in the
centre of the village, the beautiful St. Margarets Church
and an excellent museum are all good reasons to visit
Ditchling. Well stocked with friendly pubs and tearooms,
it is an excellent way to spend a day surrounded by history,
beautiful landscapes and local art.
