I’m also
a professional, freelance make-up artist working in
a variety of fields from TV and film to
music promos and commercials.
My recent jobs include doing make-up on TV for ‘Eastenders’
and for the film ‘Wimbledon’.
I’ve also done some body painting for ‘Star
Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith’. As
with the latter example,
I do paint non-pregnant people and often work for advertising
campaigns, films or commercials.
Being a freelance make-up artist means that one week
I could be working every day and the next week not at
all. Body painting can be the same - there can be months
when I have no clients and months when I
have many and the years vary in terms of whether I work
more as a make-up artist or more as a body painter.
Fortunately they are closely linked so one
job as a make-up artist could lead to another as a body
painter and vice-versa.
In the past I have body painted for charities such as
‘Maternity
Worldwide’ and ‘Genes
for Jeans’. This is
a great way of drawing people’s attention to the
issues and I would like to do more of this style of
work.
A message is definitely more noticeable when it is painted
on a nude canvas!
