However, the biggest ‘cock-up’ I’ve
managed this week…
When the AOH (the group coordinating the publication
of the Open House trails brochure) sent me the proof
via email, for some reason it wouldn’t download.
We all had two days to proof read it so I asked for
a hard copy to be posted to me ASAP. It never came.
The deadline passed and I foolishly assumed it was OK.
Rule 1: DON’T ASSUME ANYTHING
I now know why I never received the hard copy - they
sent it to the wrong house. Not number 12 Chester Terrace
but 2 Chester Terrace, that being the address in the
draft brochure.
I must have been born under a lucky star… my friend
and fellow exhibitor Bill Black had been sent a draft
copy of the brochure, spotted the cock-up, did some
fast phoning around and, to cut a long story short,
saved the day.
Three cheers for Bill.
So now onwards and upwards!
Next week: I must sort out the framers; see Andrew Tanner
(my Ceramicist) about setting up; phone Peter Nott about
invigilating; hustle the kitchen crew into getting it
finished (I’m not saying my electrician’s
slow, but I could have invented electricity in the time
he’s taken to wire up the under-unit lighting;
mow the lawn; organize some hand-outs; paint the garden
door; bake some cakes - Baby Belling, here I come!
