The exhibitions are not without incident,
however: one year a large boxer dog ran in off the street
during the ‘wine-and-nibbles’ preview and
jumped around on people before his red-faced owner appeared
to drag him away. On another occasion, my smart linen
jacket suffered the indignity of being painted crimson
with other people’s far-flung glasses of red wine.
Previews can be lively affairs!
For two years I have been putting work aside for a major
show to be held in Holt, Norfolk and from September I
am involved in a series of modest solo exhibitions around
the UK.
I am currently engaged in creating big paintings using
oils to express the same qualities of light and atmosphere
as inspire my work in water-based media.
Outside of painting, I listen to various types of music
(JS Bach, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis) and enjoy literature,
philosophy and the study of Eastern
religions and Christianity. I’m always interested
in scientific discoveries and theories, especially anything
to do with astronomical or sub-atomic physics. I like
growing things in the garden. My wife, Linda and two young
boys always manage to keep me inspired.
When I’m painting, I’m always thinking about
the things that matter to me.
