When I first decided to open my house I was told by
the Fiveways Artists group that I had to do a ‘probationary’
year and be ‘vetted’ for inclusion into
their group. I was surprised and more than a little
pi**ed off. As time has passed, my views have not changed.
I would love to know on what grounds I am to be judged,
by whom and do I have any redress if I am refused entry?
I find the whole idea of some faceless group sitting
in judgement over me and mine infuriating. What are
they scared of, hoards of un-artistic plebeians flooding
the market??
The sooner all the Open Houses are amalgamated into
one big group, where all are welcome and no one is deemed
unworthy, the better. Surely it’s the public's
job to judge the Open Houses and decide whether they
are ‘worthy’ of a visit? Well I guess that’s
me refused entry...
