I
first decided to open the house to show and - hopefully
- sell our work and to be part of the Brighton Festival.
I think I still do it for that reason, but I also really
enjoy meeting people, and giving other artist/makers the
opportunity to show and sell their work.
I think an open house needs to be friendly and welcoming.
It helps if the space isn't too untidy and cluttered and
the work is presented in a professional way. I think I
have a lot of visitors because there is always a variety
of work (something for everyone) and I try to lay on something
to keep young visitors entertained (the pet rabbit is
the current favourite).
