I usually show an artist for at least two years and
often longer, but would never stop them from showing
elsewhere. Each year I have at least two new artists,
so the show has a different feel to it. I show the work
of artists who have exhibited previously in a different
area of the house. A mixture of the familiar and new
seems to work. People often ask us about artists I have
previously shown, so I try to keep in contact with them
all and pass on relevant details to interested parties.
(Karen Laver’s cows are often enquired about).
So it’s a great networking opportunity.
It is hard work keeping the house up to standard, the
constant shifting of furniture, books, etc. but when
I had a year off we did miss it and it didn't feel the
same showing in someone else’s house.
