The clock is ticking… louder!
I finally caught up with Andrew Tanner (the ceramicist)
and we agreed a day for him to come round and sort out
his display – so that’s every one sorted
with times and dates. I’m short a few invigilation
shifts but something will turn up! When I told a friend,
a hard working mum and teacher, that I hadn’t
got enough invigilators, she asked what the job entailed;
‘Drinking tea, eating cake and reading the Sunday
papers,’ I said. (Editor’s
note: who does she think she’s kidding?)
She replied that I’d been asking the wrong people
and volunteered at once!
I spent most of the Bank Holiday clearing rubbish from
the garden and there’s still lots more to remove.
Add to that the painting of woodwork and walls, mounting
the door on the outside loo, tidying the house, washing
the ‘Open House’ banner, painting the kitchen
and the lounge and starting to remove furniture from
the lounge for the hanging days and I’m beginning
to wish I’d started about a month earlier.
