So far today - after dropping off my son at school
- I’ve been to B&Q to pick up skirting boards
and floor protectors (a concession to my partner and
his fear of hoards of stiletto-healed art lovers ruining
our new lino) and Sainsbury’s to pick up ingredients
for the six cakes I have yet to make. This was no mean
feat without a car and I tell you, the skirting boards
were a real hit at Sainsbury’s check-out! After
I’ve finished here I have to find some fishing
wire and blu-tac (for hanging paintings invisibly).
Then I have to ‘sort out’ the kitchen fitter
- who is at present conspicuous by his absence - paint
the living rooms and kitchen again, finish stripping
out the lounge ready for tomorrow’s hanging day
and source some white tablecloths.
Tomorrow I have to be around as Peter Nott, Richard
Ray and possibly Bill Black are hanging. I also have
to pick up my paintings from the framers.
Thursday is election day so my son’s school is
closed as it’s a polling station - I guess he’ll
be helping me hang my paintings!
Added to this I really must sort out my paperwork and
cash float.
