As reported last week, hanging days were Wednesday
and Thursday….. NOT!
Wednesday came and Peter Nott hung his paintings and
left but Andrew Tanner was noticeable by his absence
….. ‘okay’(small voice)
Richard Ray phoned to ask if it was okay to hang on
Friday as the kiln firing was running late…. ‘okay’(smaller
voice)
Bill Black said his mounts hadn’t arrived so could
he hang on Friday… ‘okay’(smallest
voice)
Then the kitchen fitter cut his hand and couldn’t
finish the kitchen until Friday! (gulp! no voice)
But on a more positive note, I did pick up my paintings
from the framers and they look great. I then spent a
very lovely, quiet Wednesday afternoon hanging my paintings
in my sunny, clean, tidy and grown up living room.
Thursday arrived and so did Andrew Tanner (got the wrong
day) - nice man.
Friday arrived as did Bill and Richard and the kitchen
fitter, all was goodness and light and the deed was
done….except for all the labels, prices and biographies.
Added to this I had two ‘Nigella’ disasters
….brownies and chocolate slab cake both resembled
a not entirely unappealing chocolate sauce – but
neither brownies nor slab cake - and had to be binned.
On Friday night you would have seen a grown woman cry.
