| We love transforming
our house into another world every May, and it is wonderful
to experience our living space in such a different way
each year. Having to move all our furniture and clutter
each year forces us to keep it to a minimum, and the
space is never quite the same when we put everything
back after the show which keeps it fresh for us.
The Open Houses are a very sociable and successful way
of selling artwork, and we enjoy selecting different
artists each year. The only disadvantage apart from
it being very tiring (and having to tread & cook
very carefully throughout the week) is that we are always
far too tempted to buy the artwork we are exhibiting!
We don’t have the persuasive argument when looking
at artwork ‘I wonder what it would look like in
our house? Hmm, perhaps it would not look right…?’
It can also be highly amusing when visitors come round
with their paint-test-strips to try and match the colours
of our walls, or covet a table or lamp in the house,
only to find out it comes from Argos!
