I
am completely shattered. I thought I was tired last week
but no. We had a lovely weekend - it rained and shone,
it was busy and quiet but none of it where I expected
it to be. Saturday morning dawned wet and cool, I had
messed up on my invigilation rota and was on my own for
the first 2 hours.
‘That will be okay, no one’s going to venture
out in this rain’ I told myself -WRONG!
People arrived in squelchy droves, piling out of cars
with soggy brochures and enthusiastic smiles or arriving
on the door mat with stout umbrellas and a hint of the
‘Dunkirk’ glint in their eyes.
A quick telephone call and my rescue invigilator was installed.
Then on Sunday the day dawned sunny and blue.
‘We’re going to be mobbed’ I assured
myself - WRONG! Sunday provided the quietest two hours
so far. The British public…mad!
