Washington Street, Hanover Trail,
Brighton.
This enthusiastic group has been coming together to
exhibit here for over five years.
All members work differently, some carve wood or stone
others build directly in wire or found materials and
cast from clay or experiment with the casting process.
The results are a curious collection of organic forms,
figures and creatures. There will always be a member
on hand to discuss the work.
We eagerly anticipate seeing what each has been up to
during the year. We don’t aim to increase in number,
just to keep an exciting balance of sculptors working
together.
One member living up the road, discovered that the vicar,
then Father David, was keen to encourage a sculpture
display in the church side-space as part of the Festival.
He like rest of us, liked the idea of linking the Arts,
the Church and the Community all in one celebration.
The architecture of the church lends an exciting background
to the forms on show and brings new faces in to see
it.
