Is it me or was it quiet again? We were all hoping
for a busy weekend to make up for the very quiet third
weekend but our prayers were not answered. Saturday
dawned, I added the penultimate ribbon to the tree and
that was the high point. The lovely Richard Ray and
I had a great talk on many subjects, undisturbed by
the pitter-patter of any visitor feet. It was deathly,
and we took a massive £10 on cards. It’s
days like that that make you wonder why you’re
there.
Sunday was a little busier - last blue ribbon on tree
- and there was definitely a whiff of expectation in
the air. People did seem to be more serious about buying.
There were two groups of people looking at my large
paintings and making serious noises, but then they ‘went
away to think about it’.
I am pleased to report that one group did return and
buy a large piece of my work - so I am a very happy
artist. However, that was definitely not the same for
the others.
