We arrived at George airport in South Africa on the 18th December and met up with my brother, Kevin and his wife, Alison. As if the delay on the outward trip were not enough, our suitcases failed to turn up - they were on the following flight!
20th December: We left a freezing cold George and drove over the mountain pass into much more sunny weather as we headed towards the scrub/desert.
We travelled over the Swartberg Pass towards a small town, Prince Albert, passing many Ostrich farms along the way.
Our final route was a 25 km drive on a dirt track from a road off Prince Albert to a farm house in the Great Karoo (click here for more information). continue back
