I prefer design art probably because I've never had much art training; I enjoy textures and the combinations of different paints, textiles, materials etc.

I'd love to exhibit wood but, as yet, I have no real experience...although I have been making a clavichord for 19 years.

I believe art is best shown off in the surroundings where it was created, which Is why I chose to open my house; even if I could have afforded a gallery I'm not at all sure that I'd do it as my main outlet.

Having said that, there are problems with exhibiting from home; unless it's the Open House season when everyone has a reason to be nosey then it seems very difficult to get enough custom to make a living.
