My interest in art came from a necessity to channel my skill, ideas and ambition into something visual. Images in my mind need to be expressed in a tangible format, such as painting and collage. Time now spent on jewellery design came from my earlier days when I was very interested in fashion design. Whilst studying fashion I was able to design the clothes I wanted to wear and was free to explore with no restrictions. This opened a new dimension for me as I felt I was truly expressing myself through my appearance and my craft.

Studying sculpture, fine art and printed textiles opened up other areas for me to explore. I’ve always liked to be a dab hand at a variety of skills, so clothes design drifted to accessories design.
