In France , Art College is a 5-year course. I spent the first 3 years in Pau ( South West France) and moved to a bigger and well-known Art College in Aix-en-Provence (South East France). In both schools I was encouraged to work on my favourite media, textiles.
First I explored the ideas behind the clothes one chooses to wear. I made clothes with purpose... my work was then very conceptual. Gradually the cloth-shaped pieces turned into creatures themselves. The space for the body disappeared and I started making massive textile sculptures. The main idea has always been playing with the codes of female seduction and the materials that a woman is given to dress her body.
The inner feelings unconsciously define the things we wear.
