Being part of an
Arts Trail in a Church is very interesting. The Church has
a number of beautiful stained glass windows. Edward Burne-Jones
designed the magnificent window above the high altar which
depicts the Annunciation, and William Morris created it,
as authenticated in the 'Catalogue of Designs'.
The very fine furnishings and architecture of the church
lends an exciting background to the forms on show and brings
new faces in to see it. People come in who haven’t
entered a church for years, and we have great discussions.
Some people come in and enjoy the peace, privacy and space
the church provides for their own thoughts. Others come to
see the stained-glass windows and stay to explore the sculptural
forms.
