I don’t believe
it …. My jeweller blew me
out AGAIN!
She e-mailed me the day before setting up, saying
she was sorry but she wasn’t going to be able to show
in my house. I was not happy, in fact I was well p*ssed off
and I won’t be inviting her again!
The next interesting
thing that happened was that my prints arrived ALL THE WRONG
SIZE. (It wasn’t going well)
but this was not the disaster it could have been due to the
fact I still had the original paintings. They weren’t
due to be hung in Terre a Terre until the following Tuesday
so I hung the originals instead, and they looked great. So
much so that I decided I would keep a few back from the exhibition
in Terre a Terre during the open house. The prints finally
arrived on Tuesday and are fine, so this weekend I’ll
have originals the prints and postcards on show. I never
said, did I, that the postcards have turned out wonderfully
(See, you can do things last minute and they turn out okay).
In fact they have been a huge success, flying out the door
last weekend. I sold about 70!
But I’m getting ahead
of myself. Getting the house ready took a long time, just
lugging things around and tidying up all those piles of rubbish
that accumulate in the corners of rooms and at the bottom
of the stairs. All of it had to be put somewhere and then
I had my false walls to make, which took me 3 times as long
as I had estimated. I think that’s
a good rule of thumb; estimate the time it will take you
to do something and then treble it.
