The Open House Virgin Returns
So we opened. I thought it was going to be quiet, what with the rain and the children’s parade but no, we were heaving. I thought I would be reading the paper and doing the crossword but I didn’t stop. There was about five minutes all weekend when the house didn’t have people in it.
We ran out of cakes at 4pm on Sunday, which I call excellent portion control and Bill calls slack!
Next week I’ll have a completely new selection of cakes to sample; orange poppy seed syrup cake, chocolate peanut bites, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, chocolate-fudge tray bake. Yum.
So now all I have to do is mount all my prints and decide what goes where.
I hung my exhibition at Terre a Terre on Tuesday and that went remarkably easily. I got a parking space outside the restaurant and the hanging was simplicity itself. I only hung five paintings in the front section of the restaurant and they look great. I also left postcards to sell at the front desk, designed a kids colouring in sheet and info cards for the tables. All in all it’s been a really successful week. See, I told you I could do it!
