Alongside internationally
acclaimed artists such as Cecil Rice (whose dramatic painting
of the West Pier graces the front of this year's AOH brochure),
Harvey Daniels and Shirley Trevana, there are plenty of other
well known artists, designers and illustrators on show at
the Open Houses often taking a break from their regular work
to expose a more arty side to the public.
A case in point
is Brian Grimwood, who now lives in Patcham and exhibits
at The Dragonfly House, 48 Ditchling Rise. Brian has been
responsible for many high-profile design jobs, including
the logos for the Edinburgh International Festival and
the BBC Proms. At the Open Houses he is able to show more
personal work, exhibiting his spontaneous original ink drawings
done for sheer pleasure, alongside prints of his blues heroes.
